Russia intends to assist Abkhazia to ensure National Security: Putin
Russian President Vladimir Putin says that relations between the two countries are developing in a sense of alliance and strategic partnership.
Russian President Vladimir Putin extended his congratulations to Abkhaz President Aslan Bzhania on the occasion of the republic's National Victory and Independence Day.
Putin also affirmed Russia's commitment to assisting in addressing pressing social and economic challenges in the country while safeguarding its national security.
"Dear Aslan Georgievich, please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the national holiday of the Republic of Abkhazia - Victory and Independence Day... I would like to confirm that Russia intends to continue to provide full assistance to the government and people of Abkhazia in solving urgent social and economic problems, as well as in ensuring national security," he said in his address.
Moreover, he added that relations between the two countries are developing in a sense of alliance, and strategic partnership.
Abkhazia strengthens military capabilities due to destructive forces in Georgia
Sergey Shamba, Secretary of the Abkhazian Security Council, emphasized in an interview with Sputnik that Abkhazia has been enhancing its military capabilities in response to perceived threats from Georgia, where certain groups repeatedly express their intention to reclaim Abkhazia during rallies.
Abkhazia is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its victory in the Georgian-Abkhaz war and its independence day on Saturday.
During rallies in Georgia, the opposition has voiced its desire to "regain Abkhazia."

Shamba expressed concerns about some Georgian leaders entertaining the notion of resolving this issue through force.
He emphasized the importance of a pragmatic approach, highlighting the potential adverse consequences for Georgia in such a scenario.
Shamba concluded by noting that Abkhazia has recently been actively bolstering its military capabilities in response to the situation.
