Russia Might Assist Turkey in Developing a 5th-Generation Fighter
Following Russia's unveiling of its 5th generation stealth fighter jet named 'Checkmate,' it posed the possibility of aiding Turkey to develop its own 5th-gen fighter jet.

On Sunday, Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Director, Dmitry Shugayev told Sputnik that Moscow is in talks with Ankara about assistance in developing a 5th-generation fighter aircraft.
"Russia has repeatedly expressed readiness to render assistance to the Republic of Turkey [in developing a 5th-generation fighter aircraft], and now we are negotiating this project," Shugayev said at the Dubai Airshow exhibition, where Russia will be showcasing its newest 5th-generation fighters for the first time, outside of its national territory.
Russia's new stealth fighter Checkmate, namely the SU-75, is expected to attract the interest of Middle Eastern countries, according to Russia's Trade Minister Denis Manturov.
Manturov told reporters at the airshow, "You can also see here helicopters Mi-28NE and Ka-52K, as well as Checkmate, which is something new for us, which we have already shown at MAKS [Air Show in the Moscow region] this year," adding that he considered it as "the debut abroad," expressing high hopes for the market.
The SU-75 will be on display at the Dubai Airshow, which opens on Sunday.

Russia's previously announced that its new single-engine fifth-generation stealth fighter, SU-75, also dubbed as 'Checkmate' will be showcased for the first time outside Russia at the 2021 Dubai Airshow, which will take place from November 14 to 18, according to a source in the Russian aircraft industry.
Checkmate was first shown as a functional model at the MAKS 2021 international air show in Moscow.
The Russian stealth fighter will be assembled at an aircraft factory in Russia's Komsomolsk-on-Amur region.
