Russia has imposed individual sanctions on US President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, in addition to other top US officials, according to Moscow's foreign ministry.

Other officials included in Russia's sanctions on Washington were US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, his deputy Daleep Singh, CIA Director William Burns, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, US Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Samantha Power, Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Adewale Adeyemo, and Chair of the US Export-Import Bank Reta Jo Lewis.

Furthermore, Moscow imposed sanctions on Hunter Biden and Hillary Clinton.

Recently, Russia's foreign ministry said that Moscow will not demand US and EU to lift sanctions, but rather develop the Russian economy towards the independent operation.

Russia will not ask for sanctions to be lifted: Russian Deputy FM

Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergey Vershinin, told Russian daily Izvestia that his country will not ask US and EU nations to lift sanctions being imposed on his country.

Vershinin said pressure from the West and the rest of the world would not change Russia's course, adding that the US and the EU "have tried very hard" to use the sanctions as a means through which they aimed to force Moscow to "change the decisions that have been made".

He further called EU countries the US' satellites, stressing that the sanctions aim to put Russia's economy "and ordinary Russians in a very difficult situation, doing this as a punishment for Russia's sovereign political decisions."

The sanctions, however, are ineffective, Vershinin said, and Russia will not ask for them to be lifted. Instead, Moscow will develop its "own economy and [its] ability to develop independently, relying on the friends and like-minded people that we have."
