Russia to Supply India with S-400 Air Defense Systems
Russia has been engaging in talks with 7 countries in the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and Africa about supplying them with S-400 air defense systems.
Dmitry Shugayev, Director of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, told Sputnik on Sunday that Russia will deliver the first division of the S-400 surface-to-air missile system to India by the end of 2021.
Shugayev, when asked about the supplies, said that “The first division will be shipped before the end of the year."
In October 2018, Russia and India signed a contract for S-400 shipment, making India the third country to purchase the equipment after China and Turkey.
The head of Russia's state arms exporter Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, revealed to Sputnik that talks on the supply of S-400 air defense systems were underway with seven countries in the Middle East, the Asia-Pacific region, and Africa.
