Russia: Successful Testing of "Zircon" Hypersonic Missile
Russia successfully fires a hypersonic Zircon-class missile at an exercise target in the Barents Sea.
On Monday the Russian Defense Ministry announced another successful test launch of the Zircon hypersonic missile as part of the "completion of tests."
The missile was launched from the Admiral Gorshov ship.
Russia, the US, China, and France, have been experimenting with the Mach 5 missiles.
The Ministry stated "the target was hit," and the test was successful.

The missile has recently undergone a number of tests, as Russia seeks to supply its warships and submarines with it.
Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed the development of the new weapon when he addressed the nation in February 2019, citing that the missile is capable of hitting targets at sea or on land 1,000 km away.
The recent tests come amid reports from the west that China fired a hypersonic missile five times the speed of sound over the South China Sea.
Russia has confirmed the development of several weapons capable of evading existing defense systems, including the Sarmat, and nuclear-powered Borevstnik missiles.
