Russian aircraft firm masters production of Su-57s: Official
The head of the United Aircraft Corporation says the number of Su-57s produced by the company will keep increasing.
Yury Slyusar, head of the United Aircraft Corporation, pointed out on Thursday that the aircraft manufacturer in Komsomolsk-on-Amur in the Russian Far East has mastered the mass production of Sukhoi Su-57 fifth-generation multirole fighters, adding that the number of aircraft produced by the company will keep increasing.
"This is actually the first year of the highly serial production of Su-57 planes in Komsomolsk and subsequently their number will increase. We reached more or less substantial production of these planes this year," Slyusar highlighted in a live broadcast on the Rossiya-24 TV channel.
According to the Russian news agency TASS, "The Sukhoi Su-57 is a Russian-made fifth-generation multirole fighter designed to destroy all types of air, ground, and naval targets."
"The Su-57 fighter jet features stealth technology with the broad use of composite materials, is capable of reaching a supersonic cruising speed and is furnished with the most advanced onboard radio-electronic equipment, including a powerful onboard computer, the radar system spread across its body and some other innovations, in particular, armament placed inside its fuselage," TASS indicated.

"The Su-57 AI system assumes some of the pilot’s functions, including piloting and preparations for the use of weapons," it added.
A few days ago, the CEO of Rostec corporation Sergey Chemezov considered that the Sukhoi-57 "is associated with the future of Russian combat aviation. It is an embodiment of advanced engineering and design solutions. It boasts super-maneuverability and low visibility to radars and is capable of destroying air and surface targets, detect the enemy at large distances, and operate in the conditions of a network-centric warfare. Its airframe is largely made from composite materials. The plane is equipped with the latest on-board equipment."
In mid-August, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said in an interview for the Rossiya-1 TV channel that the Su-57 fighters have shown themselves brilliantly in terms of weaponry during the Ukraine war.
"We can <…> [say] we have used and are using the Su-57 aircraft. This aircraft has shown itself brilliantly. The aircraft has a very high degree of protection against various air defense systems, has protection against missiles," Shoigu expressed.
Slyusar also affirmed that the Su-57 fifth-generation fighter is demonstrating its best qualities during the war in Ukraine.
"The aircraft [Su-57] is participating in the special military operation and is demonstrating its best qualities. I have heard reports by the Aerospace Forces and the Defense Ministry and we have a feedback and are very proud that the aircraft is already at the stage of its mass production," he said.
According to TASS, "the Russian Air Force would receive 22 Su-57 jets by the end of 2024, and by 2028 their number will be increased to 76."
The Su-57 was first tested in actual combat operations in Syria in 2018, the Russian news agency noted.
