Russian Senator Grigory Karasin announced on Friday that a Russian delegation will travel to Riyadh for talks with the US on March 23 and plan to return on March 25, RIA Novosti reported.
Karasin and Sergey Beseda, an advisor to Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Alexander Bortnikov, will lead the delegation.
The expert-level discussions are scheduled for March 24 in Saudi Arabia.
"We have a working day on Monday," Karasin said, confirming that the Russian delegation would fly to Saudi Arabia on Sunday and "return on Tuesday."
On Tuesday, Steve Witkoff confirmed that discussions on a ceasefire in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war are set to resume on Sunday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
In an interview for Fox News, following a detailed phone call between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Witkoff revealed that negotiations would begin on Sunday in Jeddah.
The US delegation to the talks will be headed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, although Witkoff did not specify who they would engage with during the discussions.
This meeting follows last month’s visit to Riyadh by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov.
