Russian draft adoption could have prevented Baptist Hospital massacre
The Russian Foreign Ministry issues a statement suggesting that the missile strike on al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City might have been prevented had the UNSC adopted Russia's proposed resolution for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The Russian Foreign Ministry released a statement indicating that the missile strike on al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City might have been averted had the UN Security Council endorsed Russia's proposed resolution for a Gaza Strip ceasefire.
The Ministry clarified that on October 16, the Russian draft was not approved by the UN Security Council.
“If the UN Security Council had adopted the Russian draft for a humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip on October 16, then perhaps the tragic missile attack on the Al-Ahli hospital complex... could have been avoided," it said.
Two days ago, Russia classified the recent attack against al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza as a crime and an act of dehumanization.
"Of course, we classify such a criminal act as a crime, as an act of dehumanization," Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova told Radio Sputnik, adding that "Israel" must provide satellite images to prove that its army is not involved in the attack.
Zakharova said the situation has evolved far beyond being a "regional crisis", describing it as a global humanitarian disaster.
On October 17, the Israeli occupation committed a massacre before the entire world as it bombed a hospital housing over a thousand civilians, killing hundreds in the process.
Palestinian media reported that the Baptist Hospital was housing over a thousand people, including Palestinian refugees, patients, and media personnel.
No less than 500 people were martyred in the Israeli aggression.

Despite the international outcry and condemnation following the Israeli strike on the Baptist Hospital, another distressing incident unfolded as the Israeli forces reportedly targeted the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Porphyrius., resulting in dozens of martyrs.
