Russian Foreign Ministry: We Will Respond to EU Sanctions
It also revealed that Moscow and Washington share the desire to stabilize Russian-US relations.
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Moscow will respond to the expanded EU sanctions against Russia.
Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, said in a press conference on Thursday that the EU's "unfriendly" decision will not go unanswered.
Zakharova also explained that despite the possibility of a continuing crisis in bilateral relations, Moscow and Washington share a desire to maintain dialogue in order to stabilize the relations.
A few days ago, the spokeswoman said that Europe's crisis, including the energy crisis, is a result of the Western involvement in "conspiracies" against Russia.
For his part, Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Russian president, pointed out that Russia is interested in breaking the ice between the Kremlin and the EU.
