S. Africa ICJ appeal says 'Israel' genocidal,'Tel Aviv' denounces SA
This comes after South Africa submitted a motion to the International Court of Justice, accusing Israeli forces of violating the UN's Genocide Convention.
"Israel" on Friday dismissed South Africa's launch of a genocide case against it at the International Court of Justice. Despite the sea of war crime evidence, the regime labeled the case as a groundless blood libel lacking legal merit and asserted that its army was adhering to international humanitarian law.
"South Africa is collaborating with a terrorist group that calls for Israel's destruction," a statement from the Foreign Ministry said. "The people of Gaza are not an enemy of Israel, who is making efforts to limit harm to non-combatants."
Earlier today, South Africa submitted a motion to the International Court of Justice which accuses Israeli forces of violating the UN's Genocide Convention.
South Africa's submission to the Hague-based court reads that the Israeli occupation forces [IOF] operations "are genocidal in character, as they are committed with the requisite specific intent to destroy Palestinians in Gaza as a part of the broader Palestinian national, racial, and ethnical group."
"The conduct of Israel… in relation to Palestinians in Gaza, is in violation of its obligations under the Genocide Convention," the application further reads.

Last month, the South African parliament voted in favor of closing the Israeli embassy, expelling the Israeli ambassador, and cutting diplomatic ties with the Israeli occupation due to the brutal war waged on Gaza.
President Cyril Ramaphosa's government said they would decide on whether to implement it or not.
The motion was passed on November 21 with 248 votes in favor and 91 against. The motion, which was introduced by the leftwing opposition party Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), was backed by the ruling African National Congress and opposed by members of the centrist-party, white-majority Democratic Alliance (DA), which is considered pro-Israeli.
