Sanaa labels US, UK 'hostile states' for sponsoring, backing 'Israel'
Yemen announces that the two countries will now be dealt with according to the principle of confrontation.
Sanaa designated on Sunday the United States and Britain as countries "hostile" to the Republic of Yemen for their support of the Israeli genocide in Gaza and following weeks of carrying out aggressions against the country, Yemeni media SABA reported.
The four-article decision, which was issued by the president of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat, labels the two countries as supporters, protectors, and sponsors of the Israeli occupation entity, and highlights their involvement in the Israeli genocide committed against the Palestinian people.

Meanwhile, Article Two stipulates that "the two states mentioned in the previous article shall be treated as states hostile to the Republic of Yemen and shall be dealt with in accordance with the principle of confrontation."
Article Three specifies that “the Humanitarian Operations Coordination Center (HOCC) shall take the necessary procedures and measures to implement the designation, and the competent security services shall also confront the activities of the two mentioned countries internally, in coordination with the relevant authorities.”
The decision will go into effect once it is published in the official Gazette according to Article Four.
This comes as the US Treasury Department announced last week that its decision to return Ansar Allah to the "list of terrorist groups" has come into effect, weeks after it labeled the movement as a "Specially Designated Global Terrorist" group, citing attacks on vessels in the Red Sea.

In response to the US designation, Ansar Allah Spokesperson Mohammad Abdul Salam considered in a statement that Washington's decision reflects "blatant hypocrisy", accusing the US of sponsoring terrorism by supporting the Israeli occupation entity.
Abdul Salam pointed out that with its decision, the United States aims to "harm Yemen in support of Israel" and encourage it to continue its genocidal war against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Furthermore, the Yemeni Foreign Ministry in the Sanaa government condemned the United States' practice of "double standards" and said that the illegitimate and unlawful action "undermines Washington's credibility with most countries worldwide."
"Washington is the party practicing terrorism against many countries, with the latest being supporting the terrorism carried out by the Zionist entity against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip," pointing out that the Israeli entity "enjoys unlimited political, military, financial, and logistical support from the United States and its allies."
