Sanaa: Coalition hindered negotiations, last chance for mediation
The Secretary of the Supreme Political Council in Yemen stresses that the last speech of Sayyed Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi gave mediation efforts a last chance to reach a fruitful conclusion.
The Secretary of the Supreme Political Council in Yemen, Yasser Al-Houri, told Al Mayadeen that the Omani delegation and its role as a mediator are "always welcome in Sanaa."
According to Al-Houri, "The continued hesitation of the Saudis and subsequently, the Americans, regarding assuming responsibility for the humanitarian situation in Yemen is the reason for the stalled negotiations throughout the previous stage."
The Secretary pointed out that the recent speech of Ansar Allah leader, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, was clear in "giving a last chance to the existing mediation efforts," pointing out that "this visit [Omani visit to Sanaa] undoubtedly comes in this context."
Al-Houri also stressed that "Sanaa's position is clear toward peace and a peaceful solution in Yemen," stressing that the primary path toward this peaceful solution must undoubtedly be through addressing the humanitarian situation in Yemen.
Moreover, the official saw that "it is not in the interest of anyone in the region to return to military confrontations," emphasizing that "the Yemeni people are pressuring the leadership to resolve the situation."

And in that regard, Al-Houthi warned that "either satisfactory [mediation] results that end aggression and blockade or avenging the oppression Yemen has been subjected to by all available military means."
The Secretary of the Supreme Political Council of Yemen noted that "as the days pass, the opportunity for a political solution narrows as the leadership cannot remain idle in the face of the aggravation of the suffering of the Yemeni people due to the ongoing aggression and blockade."
On Sunday, the leader of the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, confirmed that the aggression against Yemen has killed tens of thousands, referring to the coalition's occupation of large areas of the country and its control over the country's wealth in terms of oil and gas, in addition to its blockade on Yemen.

During a speech he delivered in commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Zayd bin Ali, Al-Houthi, he pointed to the ninth consecutive year of aggression on Yemen "under the direct supervision and intervention of the Americans and the British and the execution of their Saudi and Emirati agents, without justification."
Al-Houthi believed that "the problem of the Saudis and Emiratis, despite the cost of the aggression against our people, is that they are subject to the United States of America and Britain," stressing the American keenness to continue targeting Yemen.
Even though there are signs of de-escalation and possible Omani mediation, he affirmed that Sanaa does not stand oblivious to the efforts of the enemies to achieve their satanic goals, adding that devastation and the endeavor to dismantle the country and carve out large areas are matters that cannot pass, adding, "We have made room for mediation sufficiently."
"If they want peace, the path to peace is clear, and there are no impossible conditions on our part."
