Yemeni armed forces Spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced on Sunday that the army and the Popular Committees in Yemen have seized the Al-Yatama area, the administrative center of the Khub Washaaf district which shares borders with Najran, Saudi Arabia, and its vicinity in Al-Jawf Governorate.

Saree added that operation Fajer Al Sehra (Dawn of the Desert) led to the liberation of the Al-Yatama area which leads to the Al-Khadra border crossing between Najran, Saudi Arabia, and Saada, Yemen, except for some desert areas.

"The [Yemeni] armed forces are now facing escalation by escalation," Saree said, adding that "The armed forces move into a new phase of legitimate response to aggression."

The spokesperson for Yemen's armed forces concluded his press conference by saying that "The armed forces assure our steadfast, patient and fighting people that they have the right options to confront the criminal enemy and respond to all its crimes and attacks."

Saudi aggression on Christmas Eve

A Yemeni woman and child were killed Friday as a result of a Saudi-led coalition strike that hit the residence of the Communications Corporation's guard in the Ajama Hashem Al-Houry area, medical sources reported to Al Mayadeen.

Eight members of the same family were also injured during the strike.

On the other hand, the coalition said that a Saudi citizen and a Yemeni resident were killed after a projectile was launched on Jazan.

The Saudi-led coalition carried an attack on Friday, claiming to have destroyed "two mountain caves used to store ballistic missiles and weapons in Saada."

On Thursday, the Saudi coalition raids targeted residential neighborhoods in Sanaa. Al Mayadeen's correspondent pointed out that Al-Sabeen Maternal Hospital and Al-Shaab Mosque were seriously damaged as a result of the coalition airstrikes.
