The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the repeated remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concerning the displacement of Palestinians from their land, including through the Rafah crossing.

It also condemned the continued use of siege and starvation as a means of enforcing forced displacement.

The Ministry described these actions as a grave violation of international laws, principles, and basic humanitarian norms while affirming its full support for its brotherly country, Egypt, in this regard.

In a statement, the Ministry stressed the necessity for international community intervention, particularly by the permanent members of the UN Security Council, to halt the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and their land.

Necessity of accountability

It reiterated its rejection of any form of displacement, regardless of the pretext, and called for holding the occupation authorities accountable for crimes of genocide and serious violations against civilians.

The Ministry emphasized the urgent need to put an end to these crimes and violations, to ensure protection for the Palestinian people, and to uphold their legitimate right to establish an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with the eastern part of occupied al-Quds as its capital, a step which it affirmed as essential for ensuring regional security and stability.

During an interview for the Abu Ali Express channel, Netanyahu stated that while he would permit Gaza residents to exit through the Rafah Crossing, he claimed that Egypt would subsequently block them.

The comment made by Netanyahu drew a sharp rebuke from the Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, who stated that these remarks are part of the Israeli PM's sustained effort to prolong the tensions in the region to maintain the instability and avoid accountability for his crimes in Gaza.

In a formal statement, Egypt asserted it would never be a part of the plan to forcibly displace the Palestinians from Gaza, accusing "Israel" of deliberately targeting civilians, infrastructure, and essential services in Gaza to force the Palestinians to leave the territory.
