Saudi coalition's fabricated video a “marginal mistake”
The spokesman for the Saudi coalition, Turki al-Maliki, admits to publishing a fabricated video, describing it as a "marginal mistake."
The spokesman for the Saudi coalition, Turki Al-Maliki, said in a press conference admits that the video showing a ballistic missile manufacturing workshop in the Al-Hodeidah port was "fabricated by one of the sources."
He added that the coalition deals in the area of operations "with many sources, and this comes within the marginal error of dealing with the sources," pointing out that "there is nothing wrong with something that needs to be corrected, it is a moral and ethical obligation."
The Saudi coalition had published a video that showed scenes of "the assembly and installation site of ballistic missiles in the port of Al-Hudaydah," to later show that it was cut from the American documentary Severe Clear.
The leader of the Ansar Allah movement, Muhammad Ali ِl-Houthi, said that the coalition "cut scenes from an American movie that was filmed elsewhere and said it is from the ِAl-Hudaydah port."
The head of the Sanaa negotiating delegation, Muhammad Abd Al-Salam, commented on the justifications made by the Saudi coalition spokesman, saying that they are "pathetic".
Activists on social media also denounced Al-Maliki's statements, saying that they do not justify the blatant fabrication.
Saudi coalition lies
This is not the first time that Saudi Arabia has published fabricated scenes against Ansar Allah and its allies.
The most recent was footage "talking about Hezbollah's involvement in directing fighters in Yemen and training their members to use weapons," a claim that has been refuted, especially since the apparent fighter's dialect does not appear to be Lebanese.
A senior Yemeni source asserted that "the fabricated tape confirms that the Yemeni people are marching towards a conclusive victory," stressing that the videos "are poorly prepared and directed, and are evidence of their defeat."
Saudi coalition makes it to Hollywood
Earlier, the Saudi coalition published scenes claiming to be showing the port of Al-Hudaydah but turned out to be extracted from a 2009 American documentary film about the US invasion of Afghanistan.
The coalition had published a video in which it claimed it showed scenes from the site of assembling and installing ballistic missiles in the port of Al-Hudaydah.
However, the scenes were cut from the Severe Clear documentary, specifically an hour, nine minutes, and 54 seconds into the movie.
