Saudi-Iranian rapprochement 'positive shift': Hamas politburo chief
Head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, announced that Al-Qassam Brigades managed to manufacture missiles that can reach every point in occupied Palestine.
The head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, was a guest in Algeria on Wednesday, accompanied by a delegation from the movement's leadership to participate in the eighth conference of the Algerian Peace Society Movement, held today.
Haniyeh said during the New Aimed prospects for Algeria conference, which is held today and tomorrow, that the al-Qassam Brigades' engineers managed to manufacture missiles that reach the depth of the occupation lands, despite the siege, pointing out that the occupation only understands the language of force.
"We are currently witnessing an escalation of armed resistance... on the land of Palestine, especially in the West Bank," Haniyeh stressed.
Haniyeh stated that the resistance in the West Bank is a "strategic goal" and will continue in all regions of the country until the occupier's demise. He pointed out that the Israeli occupation is experiencing the worst conditions, including the critical and unprecedented political crisis.
Concerning the Saudi-Iranian rapprochement, Haniyeh saw what happened as a "positive shift" regarding the Palestinian issue, saying: "We have always called for the unity of this nation. This is a shift and it will have repercussions."
Haniyeh stressed that Hamas adheres to the agreement and the Algerian declaration of Palestinian reconciliation, and is committed to it. He also reviewed the situation inside occupied Palestine, the changes at the regional and international levels, and their impact on the course of the issue.
He praised Algeria, stressing that it constituted a strong voice in all international arenas defending the Palestinian people, and said: "Algeria stood with the factions and stands in the advanced trench refusing normalization with the Zionist entity."
He also said that Algeria stood with Gaza during Israeli wars, and received the convoys that crossed the border to break the siege on Gaza.
