The leader of the Islamic Revolution in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, affirmed that the movement of American university students defending the people of Gaza is an example of living conscience in the world, amid the genocide committed by the Israeli occupation over the past 9 months.

During his speech on Saturday commemorating the holy shrine defenders and the Resistance Front Martyrs, Sayyed Khamenei emphasized the importance of conveying the message of defending the shrines—which indeed defends human values—to conscientious individuals around the world.

He also underscored the significance of having an international perspective and explained that "any movement and revolution that neglects its international and regional atmosphere will suffer, just as the attempts of the Iranian nation were damaged in the Constitutional movement in Iran and the nationalization of the oil due, to their preoccupation with domestic issues and neglecting foreign interference."

Sayyed Khamenei also discussed the failure of Western analyses regarding the decline of the Islamic Revolution and its ideas. He stressed that holding victory marches for this revolution, or funeral ceremonies for martyrs like IRGC General Qasem Soleimani and service martyrs such as former Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and his comrades, embody a renewed aspect of the Islamic Revolution's strength.

Goal of West was to sow insecurity through ISIS

Moreover, he pointed out that "the enemy planned to destroy the Islamic System by occupying the region and at the same time, by imposing economic, political, ideological, and religious pressures on Iran; with such a view, the movement of the defenders of the shrine saved Iran and the region."

He emphasized that the goal of the West in forming ISIS "the goal of this organization was to create insecurity in the region, especially Iran, but the holy shrine defenders also neutralized this danger."

Had ISIS and other takfiri groups successfully infiltrated Iran, they would've sought to destabilize it, which would have impacted the entire region.

From that perspective, Sayyed Khamenei stressed that "the movement of defenders of the holy shrines saved Iran and the region," explaining that they "came out to thwart foreign schemes that we discovered in Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon."

He noted that global powers spent 7 trillion dollars in an attempt to control the region, but their efforts ultimately failed. He highlighted that ISIS collapsed, albeit not entirely.

The ceremony also featured tributes to all martyrs who defended the holy shrines and the Resistance Front, conveyed a message from Hezbollah's Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and included a speech by Major General Hossein Salami, the commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps.
