Sayyed Khamenei: West seeks to overthrow Iranian government
Iranian Leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei speaks to the crowds of the Basij Mobilization Forces in Iran about internal developments and the position on recent events.
In a speech on the occasion of Basij week (Mobilization corps) celebrations, Iranian Leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei reaffirmed that Western countries seek to overthrow the Iranian government, but that they "will not succeed in that," stressing the need to confront rioters amid Iran's riots.
Sayyed Khamenei said that "the West is seeking to overthrow the Iranian government," noting that "it will never be able to do so." The Iranian leader reminded the Basij of what the US said almost a decade ago about overthrowing 6 countries and reaffirmed that this process serves not only to increase its hegemony but also to weaken Iran for geopolitical and financial reasons.
Before delving into the importance of Iran's role on a regional level, Sayyed Khamenei noted that "Iran has millions of Basijis that are officially members of the corps, and millions of others who are not officially affiliated and are active in society."

Furthermore, in his speech, he pointed out that "in each era, the presence of the mobilization corps bore testament to the fact that the revolution was in constant renewal," adding that "members of the Basij have sacrificed themselves by standing in the way of harm in a hostile situation in order to ensure that the Iranian people remain unharmed."
Many Basij members were attacked and harmed throughout the latest riots, and some were even killed.
The Iranian leader also added that "the enemy's channels spread false and offensive news, and their content is full of misdirection."
Western media rushed to spread fake news again about #Iran. This time, many media outlets circulated news of how Iranian shopkeepers across the country “closed their stores and went on a planned three-day strike," which was disproved by new footage. pic.twitter.com/Pb0PY65som

Iran will not surrender to the USA
Khamenei explained that "a group of people who claim to be politically knowledgeable" aim to convince the Iranian people "that in order to end these riots" in Iran, then the latter must resolve its "problem with America."
To expand on that, Khamenei rebuked calls to improve relations with Washington on the basis that the US does not abide by its commitments and promises.

He stressed that “negotiations will not solve our problems with America. Only one thing would solve our problem with America and that is giving it concessions, but not just one concession," rather a continuous stream of concessions.
He addressed the mobilization corps, saying "You must beware of the enemy's infiltration" into your ranks, indicating that "a corrupt person may disguise himself as a Basij or a cleric."
As for demands calling on the government to listen to its people, Ayatollah Khamenei said “didn’t you hear the sonorous voice of the nation during the November 4 rallies [on the National Day against the Global Arrogance] then?" He continued noting that "the funeral processions of martyrs project the voice of the Iranian nation."
The war in West Asia is also a war against Iram
He emphasized that the US has spent billions of dollars trying to undermine Iran, and any future deals that Washington and its European allies aim to negotiate with Iran are intended to deprive the Islamic Republic of its defensive military capability and prowess.
Moreover, Khamenei also said that Western colonial powers have set their sights on West Asia because of its abundant energy resources, and that the occupying Israeli regime serves as the primary base for Western arrogance and hegemony across the area.
He asserted that “Iran is the most important country of the region," and that in 1979, the "Islamic Revolution tipped the balance against colonial policies, and formed a bulwark against the presence of arrogant powers."
"Our revolution won the hearts and minds of the people of the region," he affirmed.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Sayyed Khamenei said the US tried to topple the Syrian government because it is an ally of Iran, noting that Lebanon, Libya, Sudan, and Somalia have on occasions been also targeted because of their pro-Iran stances.
