The provocations Sweden is committing call for the complete severance of diplomatic ties with Stockholm, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said Saturday, in the wake of the Swedish authorities approving another Quran burning on Swedish soil.

During today's public address, Sayyed Nasrallah underlined that the masses should not fall for the apologies and statements being made by the Swedish and Danish authorities after they authorized the burning of the Holy book under the pretext of freedom of expression.

Moreover, the Hezbollah chief hailed Iraq for its response to the desecration of the Holy text after it summoned its Chargé d'Affaires from Sweden and expelled Stockholm's ambassador.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani directed the Iraqi foreign ministry to summon the Iraqi Chargé d'Affaires in Stockholm over the Swedish violations.

Moreover, the head of the media association in Iraq suspended the license of Swedish telecom company Ericsson on Iraqi soil following the Quran burning.

The Iraqi government said that these provocative acts are in violation of international conventions and norms with respect to religions and beliefs and constitute a threat to peace and incite a culture of violence and hatred.

After hundreds of people stormed the Swedish embassy in Baghdad and set it ablaze in protest over plans for burning a copy of the Quran in Stockholm on Thursday, Iraq warned Sweden that it would sever diplomatic relations if a Quran is burned again.

"Sweden will be classified as an anti-Islam state in Islamic Law if it continues down this path," Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah underlined days after Sweden authorized the burning of the Quran for the second time in the time frame of a few weeks.

"If the assessment about the Mossad being behind [the burning of the Quran] in Sweden is correct, we are before a precedent that will reoccur, and this requires a solid public and official stance," the Lebanese resistance chief stressed.

"Together, we can go through this battle and reach the day when we prevent any encroachment on our symbols and sacred places", he said, praising the protests in Lebanese cities denouncing the desecration of the Holy book.

However, he also called on the public not to take any individual actions, for they might harm the course of battle. "We must not allow for any party to fish in troubled waters in Lebanon."

Sayyed Nasrallah on Thursday denounced the most recent act of desecration against the Quran in Sweden following the approval of Swedish authorities.

He pointed out that the insulting acts are repeatedly sourced from the same country, adding that while the party that stands behind the perpetrator tried to present the act as being directed toward Iran and Iraq, the desecration of the Quran provokes all Muslim people at large.

Earlier in the day, mass rallies took place on Saturday in protest of the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden and Denmark and the attempts to insult Iraq and religious sanctities.

Demonstrations ignited in the streets of Baghdad as protestors responded to the rallying cry of the coordinating framework, calling for a mass display of dissent against the recent desecration of religious sanctities.

The central square of the capital witnessed a fervent gathering as protesters set ablaze the Swedish national flag while proudly hoisting the Iraqi flag in its place.

Swedish media said Salwan Momika, who had previously burned a copy of the Quran on the Muslim Eid Al-Adha holiday and caused international outrage, organized the event in Stockholm on Thursday. In the wake of the news, Sweden's embassy in Iraq was set on fire by protesters ahead of a planned burning of the Quran in Sweden.
