The Israeli KAN channel revealed that a high-ranking officer in the Emirati army, accompanied by military figures, arrived in "Israel" on a secret visit this week.

The channel pointed out that the Emirati delegation met with senior Israeli officials at both the military and security levels.

In the same context, KAN confirmed that Avi Gil, the military secretary to the Israeli Prime Minister, visited Abu Dhabi.

The military affairs commentator on the channel, Itay Blumental, described the Emirati military delegation's visit as "exceptional" as it coincided with the war on Gaza.

This is not the first time Emirati officials have held talks with their Israeli counterparts since the start of the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip.

In early December, The Jerusalem Post reported that the UAE requested permission from "Israel" to allow it to fly five surveillance UAVs over the Gaza Strip, but the Israeli occupation denied the bid.

Emirati representatives told Israeli officials that they wanted to fly the drones over Gaza to monitor vehicles transporting equipment meant for a field hospital being propped up in Gaza, the Israeli news website mentioned.

According to The Jerusalem Post, the Israeli authorities said they denied the UAE bid, afraid the Palestinian Resistance would get its hands on the drones and use them itself.

"They made a request, and we politely declined," an Israeli security official was quoted as saying.
