Israeli media reported an "operational incident" on Mount Hermon in which a weapon exploded, injuring seven Israeli soldiers.
According to the reports, the soldiers were handling an old Syrian weapon that detonated, leaving four of them seriously injured. All of the wounded were transferred to Safed Hospital for treatment.
The incident was described as taking place within a reserve unit operating in the area. According to reports, the explosion was attributed to the mishandling of an old weapon left from previous wars in the region.
Syria's relations with "Israel" are currently on the path of normalization. The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported on Tuesday evening that Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani held a meeting with an Israeli delegation in Paris.
The agency detailed that such meetings between the new Syrian regime and Israeli officials, for the first time, focused on "a number of files aimed at promoting stability in the region and southern Syria."
It is worth mentioning that "Israel" continues its violations against Syria across the southern provinces of Quneitra and Daraa, raiding and demolishing houses while setting up checkpoints across the area.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Israeli troops destroyed two homes in the village of al-Qahtaniyah in rural Quneitra on August 5, claiming they were too close to Israeli military positions.
"Israel" began establishing these military sites nearly two years ago in the area stretching from the village of Umm al-Azam through al-Qahtaniyah and the town of al-Hamidiyah, all the way to the slopes of Mount Hermon. It expanded its occupation of southern Syria after the fall of the Assad regime late last year.
