The toll from US airstrikes that targeted the al-Sawari ceramic factory west of the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, has risen to six martyrs and 26 wounded, some of whom are in critical condition, according to a preliminary toll announced by the Yemeni Ministry of Health.
Anis al-Asbahi, spokesperson for the Yemeni Ministry of Health, stated that civil defense and emergency teams are working tirelessly to search for victims and extinguish the fires caused by the US strike.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported Sunday that US warplanes carried out two airstrikes on the al-Yatama area in the Khabb wa ash Sha'f District, northeast of al-Jawf Governorate, amid intense American aerial activity over the Yemeni capital.
Washington has been waging an aggression against Yemen, targeting various governorates with airstrikes on an almost daily basis, as the Yemeni forces resumed their naval operations against the occupation entity following renewed Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, said the YAF shot down an American MQ-9 drone while it was carrying out hostile missions in the skies over the Hajjah Governorate.
The aircraft was brought down with a domestically-manufactured surface-to-air missile, he said.
According to Saree, this marks the fourth drone Yemeni air defenses have shot down within two weeks and the 19th since the start of the YAF's operations in support of Gaza.
The spokesperson asserted that the YAF's military capabilities remain unaffected and that the ongoing American aggression against Yemen would result only in further failure and disappointment.
YAF target 3 Israeli sites with missiles, UAVs
Earlier on Sunday, Saree announced that the YAF's Missile Unit had carried out a top-tier military operation against Israeli targets inside the occupied Palestinian territories.
Saree mentioned that the operation involved two ballistic missiles—one of them a hypersonic missile of the type Palestine 2, which targeted the Sdot Micha base in the occupied area east of Isdud. This base is used for launching Jericho missiles and houses Arrow missile batteries.
The second missile, of the Zulfiqar type, targeted Ben Gurion Airport in the occupied city of Yafa, he added.
Additionally, the YAF's UAV Unit carried out a military operation targeting a vital Israeli installation in the occupied area of Askalan using an unmanned aerial vehicle, Saree indicated.
According to the spokesperson, both operations successfully achieved their objectives, causing Ben Gurion Airport to shut down for nearly an hour and sparking panic and confusion among the settlers, forcing millions of them into shelters.
Saree underlined that "Israel", along with its American backer, must realize that Yemen—its leadership, people, and armed forces—"will not retreat from its steadfast position of supporting and standing by the oppressed Palestinian people."
He added that Yemen "will not abandon its religious, moral, and humanitarian duties, regardless of the consequences or the outcomes."
Elsewhere, the YAF spokesperson stressed that the Yemeni support and backing for Gaza will not cease until the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian enclave ends and the blockade imposed on it is lifted.
Israeli media reported that takeoffs and landings at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv were halted after sirens sounded following the launch of missiles from Yemen toward the occupied Palestinian territories.
The reports added that sirens sounded in the Gush Dan area and in occupied al-Quds, noting that most settlers headed to shelters—a scene not witnessed in "Israel" for nearly two weeks.
This development comes amid escalating Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip and the ongoing genocide, with the death toll rising to 50,944, in addition to 116,156 injuries since October 7, 2023, according to the latest figures from the Health Ministry in the Palestinian enclave.
The YAF relaunched their operations against "Israel" after the latter reneged on a ceasefire agreement with the Palestinian Resistance and resumed its war on Gaza.
US forces have since launched almost daily airstrikes on Yemeni territory, with the Yemeni Health Ministry highlighting that US airstrikes across the country have resulted in 338 civilian casualties, including women and children, since mid-March.
Health Ministry spokesperson Anis al-Asbahi told Al Mayadeen that 117 people have been killed and 221 others injured in the strikes, particularly since March 16.
