The occupation of Lebanese territory is temporary while liberation is ultimate, Hezbollah’s Secretary-General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, affirmed on Monday, emphasizing that his group stands is in a defensive mode against the occupier and the joint Israeli-American aggression.
Despite a ceasefire agreement that began on November 27, 2024 and ended more than two months of all-out Israeli war on Lebanon, "Israel" continues near-daily military strikes and sovereignty breaches inside Lebanese territory and maintains an occupation of five points along the Blue Line, which it deems “strategic.”
In a televised speech during the commemoration of Ashura, Sheikh Qassem described "Israel" as an "aggressive, oppressive, and criminal entity" and labeled the United States a "tyrannical force" attempting to destroy dignified life around the world.
The 'right to say no'
"We have every right to say no," he stressed.
“Our commitment to the land stems from the fact that it is ours by right,” Sheikh Qassem said, underscoring that “others cannot deprive us of this right for the sake of their interests” and “we will act in defense of our right.”
The Hezbollah chief pointed out that “today, Israel is on a rampage, and so is the United States alongside it. They want to exploit the status quo to reshape the region."
"This is where those who stand with justice emerge. We will stand with justice, and we will not let this occupation find stability,” he affirmed.
He added, “When justice prevails, and we liberate our land and prevent Israel and the US from imposing their diktats upon us, only then will we have a dignified future.”
Call for national unity, rejection of enemy schemes
The Hezbollah chief urged all the Lebanese to prioritize their national loyalty and refrain from supporting the schemes of the US and “Israel”, especially at this critical and dangerous turning point for Lebanon.
Sheikh Qassem asserted that those willing to surrender and yield to the Israeli occupation are the ones truly leading the country into the abyss.
'The path of righteousness'
The Hezbollah chief emphasized that “all tyrants want to influence us negatively, but we have no choice but to tread the path of righteousness.”
He concluded by addressing the Resistance group's supporters, saying, “Be assured, you will always be at the forefront with your heads held high."
"What matters the most is that you continue to stand with what is right."
