The salvoes of rockets launched from Gaza toward the settlements of the Gaza envelope are a mere preliminary response to the murder of Khader Adnan, the Palestinian resistance said.

The Palestinian Resistance factions' Joint Operations Room claimed on Tuesday responsibility for the barrage of rockets that hit the settlements of the Gaza envelope, saying it was a preliminary response to the murder of Palestinian prisoner Sheikh Khader Adnan.

"The heinous crime carried out by the occupation will prompt explosive responses from the Palestinian people in all arenas and frontlines," the Joint Operations Rooms said.

The resistance mounted prisoner Adnan, underlining that he "was martyred after a lengthy, honorable battle of hunger strike that he went through with an empty stomach in the face of the Israeli prisons."

The Palestinian Resistance launched a salvo of missiles toward the Israeli occupation's settlements in the Gaza envelope, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported, adding that the early warning systems were sounded in numerous Israeli settlements.

The EAS was sounded in "Sderot, Sha'ar HaNegev, Ibim, Erez, and Nir Am," Israeli media reported. "The Iron Dome is trying to intercept rockets over the settlement of Sderot."

Israeli media reported a rocket fired from Gaza hit the occupied Askalan Marina.

In response, the spokesperson for the Israeli occupation forces asked the settlers occupying the settlements of the Gaza envelope to "remain near shelters until further notice."

The Israeli occupation forces' tanks "are bombing several Hamas checkpoints on the borders of the Gaza Strip," Israeli media reported.

Israeli media reported that Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held an urgent joint session with security officials to assess the situation, in addition to a session with the Israeli Chief-of-Staff.

The PIJ announced on Tuesday the martyrdom of senior official Sheikh Khader Adnan inside Israeli occupation prisons.

"In our long march towards Al-Quds, we will lose many brave men, leaders, and fighters along the way, and Commander Khader Adnan was one of those who paved a wide path for all those who seek freedom in Palestine and the world," the PIJ said a statement.

The statement further pointed out that "the martyrdom of Commander Khader Adnan will be exemplary for the many generations of brave men to come."
