Singapore slams 'Israel's' unacceptable Facebook post
Singapore's interior ministry took action, compelling the Israeli embassy to remove a contentious social media post pertaining to the Palestinians.
Singapore has demanded that the Israeli embassy remove a social media post deemed “insensitive and inappropriate," warning that it could jeopardize security in the city-state and strain the strong relationship with the Israeli occupation.
The embassy's Facebook post, comparing references to "Israel" and Palestine in the holy Quran while asserting the Jewish people's "indigenous connection" to the land, was taken down following the outcry.

Although Singapore's population is predominantly ethnic Chinese, the country is characterized by its multi-racial composition, including a significant Malay community who adhere to Islam. Furthermore, Singapore shares borders with Muslim-majority nations such as Indonesia and Malaysia, both of which have witnessed protests advocating for the Palestinian cause.
The directive from Singapore to remove the post came shortly after Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his official visit to "Israel". During the meeting, Balakrishnan reaffirmed Singapore's stance that “'Israel’s' military actions in Gaza have gone too far.”
This comes as the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced earlier today that the occupation committed 11 massacres in 24 hours, killing 107 and injuring 176. This brings the total number of Palestinians killed in the Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 7 to 32,333, in addition to 74,694 injuries.
The Israeli occupation continues its relentless and genocidal campaign against Gaza for the 171st consecutive day, targeting different regions of the strip and enforcing a complete blockade. This has further worsened the already dire humanitarian situation, exacerbating the suffering of the people in Gaza.
