Sirens sound in 'Sderot', Gaza envelope settlements: Israeli media
Israeli media says the red alert siren was activated due to heavy gunfire coming from the Gaza Strip.
Israeli media on Sunday reported that sirens sounded in the city of "Sderot" and in the Gaza envelope settlements, while the Iron Dome anti-air system was not activated.
Israeli occupation forces confirmed that no rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip, adding that the alarms were activated following heavy machine gunfire coming from the Strip.
Avichay Adraee, the spokesperson for the Israeli occupation military, Tweeted that alarms were activated in "Sderot" and the Gaza envelope area as a result of non-rocket fire coming from the Gaza Strip.
The media said an illegal Israeli settler in "Sderot" "collapsed from severe anxiety" while escaping to a fortified shelter as the sirens sounded.
The Jerusalem Post said, "The red alert siren was activated due to heavy gunfire" from the Gaza Strip, adding that the municipality of "Sderot" has confirmed that no rockets have landed in the city.
Yedioth Ahronoth cited settlers in "Sderot" as saying that they heard bursts of heavy weapons from inside the Strip.
The Israeli Channel 14 indicated that the source of the sounds appears to be from heavy weapon fire fired from Gaza and not a missile.
The Israeli newspaper Maariv correspondent said that according to preliminary investigations, no rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip.
On Saturday, Israeli media reported that sounds of explosions were heard in the Gaza envelope area. According to Maariv military affairs commentator, Tal Lev-Ram, "The Iron Dome was activated in the Gaza envelope after a drone coming from Gaza managed to penetrate the envelope."

It is worth mentioning that Israeli settlers in the Gaza envelope settlements reported Wednesday hearing at least three explosions, at least one of which was due to the Israeli Iron Dome intercepting a rocket fired from Gaza over "Sderot".
"A rocket was launched from Gaza toward the city of Sderot, and it was intercepted by the Iron Dome," Israeli media said, citing an Israeli occupation military spokesperson.
