Solution against Israeli Unilateral Actions Vital: Jordan FM
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi meets with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and several PA figures.
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi discussed with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and several Palestinian Authority figures several points of interest between occupied al-Quds and Amman.
During the meeting, Safadi conveyed a message from Jordanian King Abdullah II, which came within the context of the ongoing coordination process on the Palestinian cause and joint action on "finding a solution to achieve peace on the basis of a two-state solution that meets the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people."
"There are new regional and international conditions, especially under the new US administration and the positive indications it has shown, that require us to push for an international move [to stop the unilateral Israeli steps]," the message also said.
Safadi stressed the necessity of international action capable of stopping the unilateral Israeli steps that undermine "the two-state solution, especially the expansion of settlements and seizure of Palestinian homes, such as what is taking place in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied al-Quds."
The Foreign Minister underscored that his country had made efforts to uphold the right of the Palestinian residents to their homes. "We have submitted all available documents that could help the Palestinian residents maintain their full rights to their homes," he said.
Safadi also asserted that Amman has been working to assure the success of elections in Palestine, highlighting their importance.
