Sources reveal details of targeted tanks near the Iraqi-Syrian border
The Iranian news agency, IRNA, reported that the targeting of two fuel tankers at the Al-Bukamal border crossing between Syria and Iraq, last Tuesday, did not lead to casualties.
The Iranian news agency, IRNA, reported, on Thursday, that the raids that targeted a convoy of fuel tankers that were crossing the Al-Bukamal border crossing from Iraq toward Syria last Tuesday evening, did not lead to any casualties.
The agency quoted an informed source as saying that "two tankers of the convoy, consisting of 22 fuel tankers, were subjected to aerial bombardment at the Al-Bukamal border crossing between Syria and Iraq, noting that none of the drivers was hurt as a result of the attack."
The agency denied media reports that stated that "more than 10 people were killed during the targeting," noting that "all drivers were outside their trucks and none of them were harmed."
IRNA also explained that "the truck route has been used many times before, as the fuel that Lebanon buys from Iran is transported through this route."
The source also confirmed to IRNA that after the attack, "the US military base in eastern Syria conveyed a message to Russia that they (the Americans) had nothing to do with the attack."
Earlier, on November 9, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Baghdad reported on Wednesday that air raids targeted Syrian territory after a convoy of fuel tankers left Iraq for Syria.
Field sources confirmed to Al Mayadeen that, "the Israeli occupation is behind the drone attack on the al-Qa'im border crossing [between Iraq and Syria]," noting that, "the drones targeted two fuel tankers and no human losses were confirmed."
A US official denied involvement in the air aggression targeting the area.
