Exclusive: No Hezbollah fighters present in Israeli attack location
Sources to Al Mayadeen affirm that no Hezbollah fighters were present in the area targeted by 'Israel' on Sunday night.
No Hezbollah fighters were present at the areas targeted by the Israeli aggression in Damascus Syria Sunday night, sources to Al Mayadeen said on Monday.
Al Mayadeen sources confirmed that the attack did not result in human losses, as the damages were confined to private properties and a medical center in the Aqraba area in the countryside of the Syrian capital Damascus.
Earlier, Al Mayadeen correspondent to Damascus reported on Monday that the Israeli aggression that targeted the vicinity of Damascus on Sunday was carried out using four missiles and targeted military sites.
Our correspondent explained that two missiles hit the vicinity of Qatana in the western countryside of Damascus, one missile hit the south of Damascus in the vicinity of the Al-Kiswah area, while the fourth targeted the vicinity of a site southeast of the capital, in the vicinity of Damascus Airport.
He also stressed that aggression only resulted in material damages, noting that this Israeli aggression is the second this month and the first after the Arab summit in Jeddah took place on May 19, which witnessed Syria's participation for the first in 11 years.
On Sunday, a source from the Syrian Armed Forces confirmed in a statement to the Syrian state-run news agency SANA that "at around 23:45 PM on Sunday, the Israeli enemy carried out an aerial act of aggression firing missiles from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting some sites in the vicinity of Damascus."
The source indicated that Syrian air defenses "intercepted the missiles and downed some of them."
In early May, the Syrian air defenses intercepted Israeli aggression targeting the vicinity of Aleppo International Airport and the town of As-Safirah in the southern countryside of Aleppo.
Al Mayadeen correspondent stated that the attack put the airport out of service.
