Supporting 'Israel', Ukraine enhances state security: Biden
US President Joe Biden likens Hamas to Russia and affirms the country's support for the Israeli occupation in its aggression against Gaza.
US President Joe Biden on Friday said Hamas and Russia are both out to "annihilate democracies", in a speech from the Oval Office where he dubbed the assistance to Ukraine and "Israel" as a vital US interest.
"Hamas and Russian President Vladimir Putin represent different threats but they share this in common: they both want to completely annihilate a neighboring democracy," Biden said.
He considered that "the victory of Ukraine and Israel is vital for the United States, and would enhance our security."
The US President noted in his speech that the United States cannot abandon the mission of a "two-state solution to the conflict between Israel and Palestine."
He said he would ask Congress on Friday to approve massive funding to help Ukraine and "Israel", arguing that this was an investment for the United States' future as a global leader. "It is a smart investment that's going to pay dividends for American security for generations," the 80-year-old Democrat said in just the second speech of his presidency delivered from behind the historic Resolute Desk.
The US President claimed that "the United States and its allies are working to create a better future for the Middle East," considering that this is "in Washington's own interest."

Earlier, Biden landed in "Tel Aviv" at the head of an envoy of diplomats, declaring his support for "Israel" against the Palestinian resistance.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that Biden's visit would last around four hours and that he is scheduled to hold a meeting with the Israeli war cabinet.
The US president will reportedly press to establish "safe zones" within Gaza.
During a meeting with Netanyahu, Biden played along to the Israeli narrative of the massacre in al-Ahli hospital accusing the Palestinian Resistance of the "bombing".
“Based on what I've seen, it appears as though it was done by the other team, not you,” Biden said: adding that the US will continue to make efforts to ensure that "Israel" has everything it needs to “defend” itself.
Biden was initially scheduled to visit Jordan to hold a quadripartite meeting with the Jordanian King, the Egyptian president, and the Palestinian Authorities' head.
However, the quadripartite meeting was canceled following the atrocious massacre committed by the Israeli occupation at al-Ahli Hospital.
