The twin bombings occurred on Wednesday during an event commemorating the fourth anniversary of the martyrdom of late commander Lt. General Qassem Soleimani.

The attack resulted in the loss of 89 lives, including nine children, and left nearly 300 people injured, some in critical condition.

On Thursday, the Daesh (ISIS or ISIL) terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack.

In response, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei issued a stern warning, vowing severe consequences for those responsible for the terrorist act.

Iran vows to avenge martyrs' blood

Earlier today, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi spoke during the funeral procession held for martyrs of the terrorist attack while attending a massive march held in remembrance of the late Resistance leader martyr Qassem Soleimani.

During his speech, Raisi pointed to the diligent work of martyr Soleimani who expanded the Resistance movement in the region, forwarding its plans and establishing its long-term programs. In this context, Iran's President shed light on the Palestinian Resistance's successful confrontation of the Israeli occupation, confirming that no one can disregard the role of martyr Soleimani mirrored in today's victories.

Addressing thousands of Iranians, Raisi revealed that an American plot to form another "Israel" in the region was foiled, thanks to martyr Soleimani's efforts, adding that Iran has become a great power as a result of the directives of Seyyed Ali Khamenei and the efforts of martyr Soleimani.

The Iranian President explained that Iran's enemies have taken note of the country's exponentially growing capabilities, adding that the country will hold larger responsibilities toward its martyrs.
