Syria holds US responsible for continued Israeli aggression on Gaza
Syria urges the UNSC to take responsibility and put an end to the crimes and massacres "Israel" is committing in Gaza, amid the US obstruction of any possibility to end the aggression.
Urgent humanitarian aid should be delivered to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Miqdad said during a meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
The top diplomat stressed Damascus' rejection of plans and attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians in his statement during a UNSC quarterly meeting on "The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question."
The statement was read out by Al-Hakam Dandi, Deputy Permanent Representative of Syria to the United Nations, on behalf of Minister al-Miqdad.
"The Israeli occupation committed war crimes and crimes against humanity during its aggression on the Gaza Strip, using internationally banned weapons, as well as cutting off water, medicine, electricity, and fuel from people and threatening them with forcible displacement," the statement read.
Syria's Foreign Minister put the October 7, Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, into its historical context, saying, "The main factor for escalation in occupied Palestinian territories is the injustice which our people have been facing for decades."
The statement pointed to the "monstrous war" led by the Israeli occupation to end the Palestinian cause "by committing massacres and genocidal crimes."

The Minister reiterated Syria's rejection of the positions taken by the United States and its allies during the convention of the UNSC. He emphasized that the US-led coalition's practices in the UNSC disabled the international body's capacity to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Al-Miqdad underlined the UNSC's responsibility in putting an end to the Israeli-committed crimes and massacres, as well as fairly questioning those who committed them. To this end, the Syrian Foreign Minister asked that the inquiry be completed, free from any political prejudice or the application of double standards when addressing such critical matters.

Israeli crimes in Gaza: A systematic approach
The Minister concluded by shedding light on the systematic practices of the occupation, emphasizing "Israel's" illegal occupation of the Golan and its unjust treatment of indigenous populations, marked by arbitrary arrests, killings, and displacements. Additionally, he pointed out ongoing policies aimed at increasing settlements and settlers in occupied territories with the aim of forcing a demographic shift.
It is important to note that "Israel" has attacked Syrian civilian infrastructure, including two functional international airports in Aleppo and Damascus on 3 occasions since Operation Al-Aqsa Flood was launched on October 7.
Earlier on Sunday, the Foreign Ministry said that "Israel's" crimes against Gaza amount to war crimes and that its sponsors have once again demonstrated that "international law and its covenants for them are a tool that they exploit to achieve their colonial plans to target any country under false claims."
The Syrian Arab Republic, according to the Ministry, warns of the implications of continuing these attacks and activities that violate international humanitarian law, which would plunge the area into a larger spiral of conflict.
Since then, US occupation bases in Syria and assets in Iraq have been targeted on a near-daily basis by Resistance factions in the two countries.
The US Central Command told NBC News, on Tuesday, that 24 US soldiers have been wounded as a result of the attacks targeting its occupation bases in Syria and Iraq over the last week.
