Syria supports Iran, Resistance in confronting Israeli crimes: FM
Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad condemned the West's complicity in Israeli violations, labeling them as partners in crime against Iran, Lebanon, Yemen, and Syria.
Syria's Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad held a phone conversation with Iranian Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani in which they discussed recent Israeli aggressions, as reported by SANA on Tuesday.
The two officials condemned the recent assassination of Hamas politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and Hezbollah commander Fouad Shokor in Lebanon, both of which were committed by "Israel."
Mikdad criticized "Israel's" policy of escalation and its expansion of aggression across the region, holding it accountable for committing war crimes and acts of genocide in the occupied territories.
He stressed that these actions must not go unpunished and reiterated Syria's support for Iran and Resistance forces in confronting Israeli crimes.
"Syria stands by Iran and the Resistance forces to confront the Israeli crimes," Mikdad said.

Mikdad also condemned the West's complicity in Israeli violations, labeling them as partners in crime against Iran, Lebanon, Yemen, and Syria.
Bagheri Kani echoed Mikdad's sentiments, noting that the Israeli regime's actions stem from its failure to achieve any goals in Gaza.
He mentioned that the recent aggressions on Yemen, Lebanon, and Tehran, supported by the US and Western nations, would not go unpunished.
The Iranian minister expressed gratitude to Syria for its unwavering support to Iran and its people during these challenging times.
Both ministers agreed to continue consultations and coordination to counter Israeli aggressions and achieve regional and global security.

Following Hamas politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh's assassination in July, Iran vowed to retaliate.
On the other hand, the assassination of Hezbollah commander Hajj Mohsen has sparked further escalations.
Multiple US officials told CNN earlier in the day that they expect Iran to retaliate in the coming days, perhaps within the next few hours.
However, they struggle "to gauge when the response will come and what form it will take."
Moments ago, Hamas announced that its new political leader is Yahya Sinwar, the mastermind behind Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7.
