Syria: Cautious calm, start of implementation of "Aleppo Agreement"
The frequency of clashes in northern Syria is declining after Turkish intervention led to an agreement between the warring factions.
Twenty-five militants have been killed and more than 50 wounded in clashes in areas controlled by the so-called Euphrates Shield and Ghosn Al-Zaytoun militants in the past 24 hours, according to reports.
Sources said that the frequency of clashes "decreased after a Turkish intervention that led to an agreement between the warring factions and provided for the withdrawal of national army gunmen from Ahrar Al-Sham headquarters and the movement's return to its points in the villages of the countryside of the eastern city of Al-Bab, including Tarhin."
The agreement, which came in the presence of a Turkish security delegation, was called the "Aleppo Agreement" and stipulated that "all military alerts in Afrin and Al-Bab should be dismantled". The Agreement also stipulated that the Tahrir Al-Sham authority should evacuate the positions it had taken control of in the Afrin countryside north of Aleppo.

The agreement confirmed the withdrawal of Tahrir Al-Sham from the "Ghosn Al-Zaytoun area" and the return of control points as before, while the agreement did not mention the reinforcements received by Ahrar Al-Sham, an ally of the Tahrir Al-Sham in the region.
More than a dozen civilians, including four children, were killed in clashes in areas of operations by the Turkish army and allied armed groups, called the Euphrates Shield and the Ghosn Al-Zaytoun Branch, between Turkish-backed gunmen.
In the past two days, the Tahrir Al-Sham Authority has entered the areas of Ghosn Al-Zaytoun and taken control of three villages, advancing towards the city of Afrin in the northern Aleppo countryside.
Consequently, the so-called Fath Al-Mobin Operations Room, which includes the Ahrar Al-Sham Movement, the Sham Legion, and other factions in Idlib, has declared an alert to confront Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyah and Tha'irun Authority in northern and eastern Aleppo, in the areas of Ghosn Al-Zaytoun and the Euphrates Shield.
