Syria: "Israel" targets the vicinity of Quneitra with missiles
This is the second Israeli aggression targeting Syrian territory in less than a week.
Syria's Ministry of Defense announced at dawn that an Israeli aggression targeted certain points in the vicinity of Quneitra, southwest of the country. The aggression was perpetrated using a number of missiles launched from the occupied Syrian Golan, leading to material losses.
The Syrian military media quoted the Defense Ministry as saying that at approximately 12:30 local time, "Israel" carried out an aggression with several surface-to-surface missiles targeting the Quneitra area.
This is the second Israeli attack on Syrian territory in less than a week. A few days ago, the Syrian Ministry of Defense reported that the Israeli forces targeted the vicinity of the town of Zakiya, south of Damascus, with several missiles and caused some material losses.
On February 9, a Syrian soldier was martyred and five others were wounded as a result of an Israeli aggression targeting military sites in the vicinity of the Syrian capital.
Damascus has repeatedly appealed to the UN Security Council to put pressure on "Israel" to stop its systematic violation of Syrian sovereignty.
It is noteworthy that Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova expressed her country's "deep concern", saying the Israeli airstrikes are a "crude violation of the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic and may trigger a sharper escalation of tension."
