Syrian soldiers killed, injured in terrorist attack in the desert
As operations targeting US occupation bases in Syria mount, dormant terrorist cells are suddenly awoken to carry on with their terrorism.
A militant group believed to be part of dormant terrorist cells launched an attack on Syrian Arab Army positions and allied forces in the Syrian Desert (Badia) near the Homs-Hama-Raqqa triangle, resulting in the martyrdom of 21 and the injury of 9.
Al Mayadeen's sources confirmed that “a number of gunmen carried out simultaneous attacks on Wednesday dawn against positions belonging to the Syrian army and allied forces in the al-Kowm area and the al-Sokhna axis in the eastern Homs desert, which led to the martyrdom of 21 members and the injury of 9 others, while a number terrorists were killed and wounded in a non-final toll.”

The sources pointed out that all field indicators show that the attack was launched "from the direction of Al-Tanf, where a US occupation base is located," accusing "the United States of using its bases to support terrorism and provide military and intelligence assistance" to terrorist groups.
This comes as Resistance factions, most notably the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, have been carrying out operations against US occupation bases in Iraq and Syria for the past weeks, in support of Palestinians in Gaza, who are being subjected to ongoing Israeli massacres, which resulted so far in over 10,500 martyrs, over half of which are children and women.
"The American occupation is trying to retaliate against the legitimate attacks of the Resistance by facilitating attacks by ISIS terrorists on areas controlled by the army and allied forces in the desert," the sources confirmed.

Syrian military reinforcements were deployed to comb the area that was attacked and pursue and eliminate the groups responsible.
Furthermore, in support of Gaza, leaders of a number of Resistance factions in Iraq have announced earlier that no US occupation forces will be allowed to remain on Iraqi soil, noting that Syria too has always considered US presence on its territories as an unwelcome occupation and a legitimate target.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq has carried out over 40 operations targeting US occupation bases in Syria and Iraq since October 7, the latest of which was on Wednesday.
Pentagon Press Secretary Brigadier General Pat Ryder said earlier this week that the operations resulted in the injury of 46 US military personnel.
