Terrorists in Syria using US technology, help from Kiev with UAVs
A source told RIA Novosti that terrorists in Syria have "no experience" with the technology at their fingertips.
According to a source close to the Syrian special services, members of terrorist groups were able to capture Aleppo thanks to Ukrainian advisors who assisted them with drones as well as the use of advanced US technology such as satellite navigation and electronic warfare systems.
The source told RIA Novosti that the terrorists have no experience with such technology and it " would not have been possible to master it without advisors from Ukraine, the Islamic Party of Turkistan and Syrian officers (who went over to the terrorists' side)."
The assaults were managed using advanced technology given by the Americans, according to the source, who also stated that the Syrian army's communications were disrupted by sophisticated electronic warfare equipment.
"The assault groups and drones were equipped with encrypted GPS devices and extensive use of artificial intelligence so that the use and navigation of attack UAVs and kamikaze drones could take place from a long distance," the source detailed.
Syrian Army repels militant groups' attack in Hama countryside
According to Al Mayadeen's correspondent, the Syrian Army and allied forces repelled a fierce attack by militant groups on the village of al-Fan al-Wustani, located northeast of Hama.
Syrian and Russian warplanes targeted a convoy of militant groups in Khan Sheikhoun, Idlib countryside, with two airstrikes early this morning, our correspondent confirmed earlier on Monday.
He clarified that the airstrikes had not stopped since last night and continued until dawn, further explaining that the focus was on the southern Idlib countryside and targeted the movements of militants in areas that the Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) terrorist group had entered, such as Khan Sheikhoun and Maaret al-Numan, where the Syrian Army clearly relies on air superiority.
Strikes yesterday hit the western Aleppo countryside, targeting militants near al-Hamdaniyah stadium and their movements in the city. The Syrian Army also downed several drones in northern Hama, which were used in recent attacks on Aleppo, Saraqib, and Maaret al-Numan. Efforts to reinforce front lines continue, with the Syrian Chief of Staff visiting the northern Hama front, the main contact point with militants in southern Idlib.
Our correspondent in Damascus said the Syrian Army is working to secure the towns of Taybat al-Imam, Halfaya, and Qalaat al-Madiq in the northern and northwestern countryside of Hama, adding that the Army is working to establish checkpoints and barriers in the towns it has recaptured in the area.
Assad and Pezeshkian unite against regional threats, terrorism
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad held a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to address recent developments and bolster cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
During the call, President al-Assad stated that the surge in terrorist activities serves broader objectives aimed at fragmenting the region, dividing its states, and redrawing geopolitical maps to align with the interests of the United States and its Western allies.
He underscored that such escalations would only strengthen Syria’s determination to confront and eradicate terrorism across its territories, reaffirming the resolve of the Syrian army to protect national sovereignty.
President Pezeshkian, in turn, reiterated Iran’s steadfast opposition to any efforts undermining Syria’s unity and stability, warning that targeting Syria threatens the entire region’s cohesion and security.
“The Zionist-American ambitions are evident in their attempts to destabilize the region, its nations, and its people,” Pezeshkian remarked. He described the ongoing events in Syria as a manifestation of these ambitions and emphasized Iran’s readiness to provide comprehensive support to Syria in defeating terrorism and countering external interference.
