Threats on Al-Aqsa dangerous, freeing prisoners priority: Abu Obeida

Al-Qassam Brigades military Spokesperson touches on a myriad of topics, especially amid the Israeli calls for storming Al-Aqsa, promising a decisive response.

Al-Qassam Brigades military Spokesperson Abu Obeida said, "The threats of the [Israeli] occupation and settler leaders against Al-Aqsa to increase the incursions are dangerous," noting that "these threats should put our people and our nation on high alert to save the holy shrine that saw the ascension of the Prophet.”

Abu Obeida, in an interview published simultaneously on several media outlets, including Shehab News Agency, on the 35th anniversary of the launch of Hamas, urged the youth of the West Bank and Al-Quds and the people of the ’48 occupied territories to step up resistance, addressing them, saying, "Your heroic, qualitative, and innovative actions constitute a terrifying nightmare for the occupation. So surprise your enemy and strike when it least expects it,” vowing that the Resistance battalions will be there for them by their side.

"God willing, their plans will backfire, and this criminality and inclination to extremism that has plagued the [Israeli] entity marks the beginning of its end at the hands of the believers and freedom fighters,” Abu Obeida added.

He went on to say that the Palestinians are facing a battle over existence, rights, history, and future, stressing that victory shall come with patience and that despite the pain of martyrs falling, revolution will sprout and real victory shall come along.

In response to the ongoing Zionist threats regarding a large-scale aggression on the Gaza Strip, Al-Qassam Brigades spokesperson promised a decisive response in the event of any “foolish act” by “Israel”.

Liberating prisoners; a top priority

Abu Obeida said the decision to liberate the prisoners from Israeli occupation prisons is a top priority and an irreversible decision taken by the leadership of Al-Qassam and other Resistance factions.

He addressed the prisoners, saying, “You are icons present in all the details of our resistance and [liberating you is] a top priority. The decision to liberate you and shatter your chains is irreversible, and your brethren shall spare no effort, time, and planning for your freedom, which is a debt we owe you and a firm unretractable decision.”

Abu Obeida stressed that the decision to increase the number of Israeli soldiers captured by the resistance still stands and is still pursued by Al-Qassam in light of the occupation's intransigence in this file.

And on the issue of stepping up resistance in the West Bank recently, the Palestinian Resistance leader said Al-Qassam Brigades sees this extended and increasing resistance movement as a natural status that comes in response to Israeli aggression and sets the foundation for the next liberation stage.

Abu Obeida continued, “We highly appreciate our youth and people in the West Bank as they achieve heroic victories that everyone cannot but respect, revere, and be proud of,” stressing that this movement is the most important in the past fifteen years and promising that it will have “strategic repercussions on the future of the Zionist entity.”

Seif Al-Quds Battle

Abu Obeida confirmed that the battle of Seif Al-Quds was the spark that unraveled dormant, yet alive potentials and flared up the situation in the occupied West Bank, Al-Quds, and the ’48 occupied territories, stressing that the battle was an "inspiring exemplar”.

He said the Brigades, 35 years onto its launch, firmly maintains its strategic line for the sake of which it was launched, which is resistance in all its forms, the accumulation of strength, and the activation of all possible means of resistance, which all stand as a liberation movement in the face of a spiteful occupation.

Commenting on the statements of Israeli Minister Benny Gantz, who said that Hamas scored an achievement in the battle of Seif Al-Quds and left an open wound in the Israeli memory, Abu Obeida said, "These are only bits and pieces of what the enemy's military leadership recognizes, which confirms that the decision of the Resistance and Al-Qassam leadership to initiate and manage this battle was the right, necessary decision.”

He explained that Benny Gantz's statements confirm how deep the wound and impact of this blessed battle runs in the memory and awareness of the occupation.

Al-Qassam Brigades leader further stressed that this is an ongoing and continuous open battle that cannot stop.

Al-Qassam Brigades operates as hierarchical combat organization

Abu Obeida indicated that Al-Qassam Brigades on the 35th anniversary of the launch of Hamas has become the nucleus of the liberation army, which cannot be missed, and has become a difficult player in the equation.

He made it clear that the Brigades today stands on solid ground as a force for the Palestinian people, a safety valve, a legitimate sword in the face of the Israeli occupation, and a spearhead in the journey of liberation.

Equations established by Al-Qassam

Regarding the military equations enforced by Al-Qassam Brigades against the Israeli occupation during the past years, Abu Obeida said the most prominent of these equations is making the Gaza Strip a forbidden land for the occupier and enabling Gaza as a base for military action, armament, and preparation for the Resistance.

Another equation is linking the act of Resistance to major national issues, such as occupied Al-Quds and the prisoners, according to Al-Qassam Spokesperson.

Joint Operations Room

Abu Obeida explained that the establishment of the joint room of the Resistance factions is a precedent in the history of modern resistance, indicating that the shared feeling of the unity of purpose, destiny, and blood among all forces is what facilitated the establishment of the joint room as an important national achievement.

He explained that the atmosphere provided by the Hamas and Al-Qassam leaderships for the resistance in Gaza established the importance of this coordinated and harmonious action between the different Resistance forces.

Abu Obeida pointed out that Al-Qassam partners in the Joint Operations Room contribute to the development of work mechanisms in the room in order to achieve efficiency and correct assessment in managing the battle with the Israeli occupation.

Milestones

Regarding the most important milestones that Al-Qassam Brigades went through and constituted a quantum leap in the resistance military action, Abu Obeida indicated that the first stage was that of laying the foundations between the 80s and the 90s, which was highly important and strategic, knowing that the most prominent figures of that stage were martyrs Imad Akl and Yahya Ayyash.

Then came Al-Aqsa uprising (Intifada), which witnessed a qualitative leap in military action in terms of the manufacturing, preparation, and qualitative operations across Palestine between 2000 to 2005, leading to the defeat of the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip.

He continued that then came the stage of establishing the organized Resistance military action in Gaza, in terms of institutionalizing the military apparatus and developing the tools and mechanisms of work and combat organization, in addition to waging decisive and important battles with the enemy and imposing rules of engagement and strengthening the presence of the resistance and accumulating its strength between 2005 to 2022.

"One of the most prominent features of this stage was Operation Dispelled Illusion and Wafa Al-Ahrar deal," Abu Obeida noted.

The Spokesperson indicated that in the last stage, the Joint Operations Room was established along with the other Palestinian Resistance factions in the face of the occupation.

Abu Obeida sent a message to the nation’s scholars and preachers, entrusting them with the Palestinian cause, Al-Quds, and Al-Aqsa Mosque.

He also called on the Palestinian people to support Resistance fighters and to direct their energies toward Palestine and toward the battle of uprooting the Israeli occupation from the heart of the nation, instead of strife, discord, division, and side battles, which gave the enemies time to violate the most sacred sanctities of the nation.

He said the desperation of some regimes to normalize relations with the Israeli occupation is a losing battle and a great risk.

Abu Obeida concluded that Al-Qassam Brigades are reassured that the people of the nation refuse normalization with the Israeli occupation, adding that the masses of the nation have delivered their message to the whole world in all forums, events, and arenas, which is that "this occupation is coming to an end and has no place in our land or in the consciousness of our peoples."
