Three dead after two US army helicopters crash in central Alaska
The 11th Airborne Division says in a post on Facebook that the AH-64 Apache helicopters from Fort Wainwright crashed near Healy, Alaska.
Three US Army helicopter pilots died, on Thursday, after two US AH-64 Apache military helicopters crashed in Alaska during a training flight, The Washington Post reported, citing military officials.
"Two AH-64 Apache helicopters from the 1st Attack Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment, at Fort Wainwright crashed today near Healy, Alaska, returning from a training flight," the 11th Airborne Division wrote on Facebook.

"First responders are on the scene. The incident is under investigation," the Army unit added, without specifying the causes behind the crash.
It is worth noting that nine troops were killed last month during a routine night training exercise over Kentucky when two medical evacuation Black Hawk helicopters crashed.
In a similar incident, US authorities also confirmed in mid-February that two people were killed when a military Black Hawk helicopter crashed near a highway in the southern state of Alabama.
The helicopter belonged to the Tennessee National Guard and was on a training flight when it crashed at midafternoon near the city of Huntsville, the Tennessee National Guard said in a statement.
