Top Hadi forces official killed southeast Marib
The head of the military operations of Hadi government forces was killed during confrontations with the Yemeni Army and Popular Committees a few hours after the latter secured the eastern al-Balaq mountain range.
Nasser al-Zubiani, the head of the military operations of Hadi government forces, was killed along with 27 of his troops during confrontations with the Yemeni Army and Popular Committees southeast the city of Marib in the past 24 hours.
The Saudi-led coalition warplanes launched 21 raids in the past few hours targeting the al-Balaq eastern mountain range, which overlooks the Yemeni city of Marib.
The Yemeni Army and Popular Committees have secured the eastern al-Balaq mountain range after several days of ongoing intense battles that were classified as the fiercest against Hadi's forces and the Saudi-backed Al-Islah party, which resulted in hundreds of deaths and injuries from both sides.
Since last Monday, Saudi coalition warplanes have launched more than 200 airstrikes targeting the districts of Sirwah, Al-Juba, and Wadi Ubaidah, in repeated attempts to slow the progress of the Yemeni Army and Popular Committees toward Marib in northeastern Yemen.
In late October, the Minister of Defense in the Sanaa government, Major General Muhammad Al-Atifi, indicated that most of the districts of the Marib Governorate have been secured by the Yemeni Army and Popular Committees, emphasizing that "the reclamation of Marib is inevitable."
