Former President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he voted for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in the state’s race for governor.

When asked "Did you vote for Gov. DeSantis?" by a reporter on Tuesday, Trump responded, "Yes I did," as he left a polling place in Palm Beach, Florida, with former first lady Melania Trump.

Happy to be back in Fort Myers tonight. The people of Southwest Florida are resilient...and full of energy!

This comes amid rising speculations that both Trump and DeSantis will be running for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024.

Yesterday, Trump was on the verge of announcing his decision to run for president again at a campaign rally in Dayton, Ohio.

Trump raised the stakes even higher by promising something huge from his Florida home next week.

"I’m going to be making a very big announcement on Tuesday, November 15, at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach Florida. We want nothing to detract from the importance of tomorrow,” he added.

Just two days ago, Trump openly mocked DeSantis during a rally held in Pennsylvania, calling the governor "Ron DeSanctimonious."

The following day, he told supporters in Miami to vote for DeSantis.

"No matter who you vote for, you have to vote," Trump told reporters on Tuesday.

DeSantis is running against Charlie Crist, a former Republican governor turned Democrat who has the endorsement of President Joe Biden.

Ron DeSantis would rather have the Proud Boys monitor the polls than our own government.

He sides with the violent extremists & insurrectionists to the end. Make no mistake, this governor is trying to scare voters and suppress our voices at the ballot box. And it will not stand. https://t.co/int45XYSr6

Polls show that DeSantis is so far leading the race against his opponent.

CBS spent all day in Democrat precincts in Florida that voted for Biden in 2020 and couldn’t find a single Charlie Crist supporter 😂
