BREAKING
Sheikh Qassem: Our supporters make up more than half of Lebanon's population, and all of these people are united under the banner of protecting Lebanon, its Resistance, its people, and its integrity.
Sheikh Qassem: There will be no phased handing in of our arms. [The Israelis] must first enact the agreement before we start talking about a defensive strategy.
Sheikh Qassem: Be brave in the face of foreign pressures, and we will be by your side in this stance.
Sheikh Qassem: Stripping us of our arms is like stripping us of our very soul, and this will prompt us to show them our might.
Sheikh Qassem: We will not abandon our arms, for they gave us dignity; we will not abandon our arms, for they protect us against our enemy.
Sheikh Qassem: The US efforts we are seeing are aimed at sabotaging Lebanon and constitute a call for sedition.
Sheikh Qassem: If you truly want to establish sovereignty and work for Lebanon’s interests, then stop the aggression.
Sheikh Qassem: The United States, which is meddling in Lebanon, is not trustworthy but rather poses a danger to it.
Sheikh Qassem: The United States is preventing the weapons that protect the homeland.
Sheikh Qassem: The government’s latest decision [on the disarmament of the Resistance] is non-charter-based, and if the government continues down this path, it is not faithful to Lebanon’s sovereignty.

Former US President Donald Trump was disappointed with the Israeli administration's role in the assassination of the Quds Force commander, Major General Qassem Soleimani.

According to Axios, General Soleimani's assassination in 2020 was "a major point of tension between the allies," as Trump was looking forward to a more Israeli active role.

The former US President feeling "used"

A former senior Trump administration official quoted the former president as saying that "Israel did not do the right thing," and said Israeli then-Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was "willing to fight Iran to the last American soldier."

Trump's statements were made as a part of an interview for a book called Trump’s Peace: The Abraham Accords and the Reshaping of the Middle East, for Israeli author Barak Ravid.

In contrast, a senior Israeli security official revealed that "Israel" had already "proposed a more active role for Israeli forces but the US insisted on being the ones to execute the strike," the article read.

Ravid pointed out that Trump's anger is still unjustified. A former White House official had mentioned to the author that even after Netanyahu's visit to the US for signing the so-called "Abraham Accords," the former US president "wasn't convinced and continued to believe Netanyahu had used him."

According to Yahoo News, the Israeli occupation tracked martyr Soleimani's cellphone before the assassination.

Trump: “They were not meeting to discuss child care, OK?"

In an interview with Ravid, Trump claimed that General Soleimani "was in Iraq to meet with militia commanders and plan attacks against US targets."

“They were not meeting to discuss child care, OK? They had a lot of very bad intentions. And we knew that. So I felt very strongly that our country really had little choice," Trump justified.

After General Soleimani's assassination, Trump administration officials, including Vice President Mike Pence, "had expressed appreciation for the Israeli role in the Soleimani killing and its aftermath," underlined the article.

On January 3, 2020, the commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution's Guards Corps, Major General Qassem Soleimani, and the deputy commander of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were martyred by a US missile strike near Baghdad International Airport.

It is noteworthy that after Trump's recent comments in which he criticized Netanyahu for congratulating Biden after winning the US presidential election, an evangelical leader close to Netanyahu warned Trump "Don't make us choose between you and Israel."
