Larijani praises the Resistance Front
Larijani asserted that the Resistance Front is "part of the heart of the region’s peoples," explaining that "each of its components strives to achieve the aspirations of its own people."

Larijani’s trip to Baghdad marked his first regional tour since being appointed as Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary on August 5, 2025. The centerpiece of his visit was the signing of a joint memorandum of understanding on border security coordination between Iran and Iraq.
The agreement, signed with Iraq’s National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji under the auspices of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, aims to enhance border management, strengthen regional security, and prevent any security breaches targeting neighboring countries.
During his stay, Larijani held high-level meetings with President Abdul Latif Rashid, Prime Minister al-Sudani, and National Security Advisor al-Araji. Discussions covered regional security, economic cooperation, including plans for railway connectivity and integration with regional development routes. Palestine was on the agenda as well, with both sides stressing the urgent need for international action to halt Israeli aggression against Palestinians.
The Baghdad visit forms part of Larijani’s wider regional tour, which will also take him to Lebanon, especially important amid attempts to strip the Lebanese Resistance of its weapons, which may enflame tensions in the region.
