US President Donald Trump raged against CBS on Sunday, claiming the network should lose its broadcast license because "60 Minutes" ran stories on Ukraine and Greenland that portrayed him negatively.

After seeing Sunday's "60 Minutes" episode, Trump stated in a Truth Social post that it was the most disparaging and libelous attack against him yet.

“They did not one, but TWO, major stories on ‘TRUMP,’ one having to do with Ukraine, which I say is a War that would never have happened if the 2020 Election had not been RIGGED, in other words, if I were President and, the other story was having to do with Greenland, casting our Country, as led by me, falsely, inaccurately, and fraudulently,” the US president wrote.

In October, Trump sued the station for a "60 Minutes" interview with his opponent, former Vice President Kamala Harris, which aired just before the 2024 presidential election. In his complaint, Trump alleged that the network improperly altered the interview to depict Harris positively.

CBS News' parent company, Paramount, has stated that the president's lawsuit is an "affront to the First Amendment and is without basis in law or fact" and that Trump is attempting to "punish a news organization for constitutionally protected editorial judgments they do not like."

Early this month, The New York Times reported that Trump and Paramount are preparing to enter mediation in the $20 billion case, with the goal of striking an agreement.

It's unclear what sparked Trump's outrage, although both pieces quoted foreign leaders denouncing him.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in a Sunday interview with '60 Minutes' on CBS, invited President Donald Trump to visit Ukraine and reflected on his tense February meeting at the White House.

Speaking through an interpreter, Zelensky noted that the US has experienced "a shift in tone" and "a shift in reality," implying that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s messaging has influenced the Trump administration, specifically calling out Vice President JD Vance.

Zelensky said, addressing Trump's false claims in February that Ukraine had started the three-year-old war, that "first and foremost, we did not launch an attack."

Meanwhile, the "60 Minutes" segment on Greenland included several political and economic figures denouncing Trump's plans to govern the island.

Aqqaluk Lynge, an elder Inuit politician, criticized Trump's recent address to Congress for treating Greenland as if it were a toy.

"You noticed that?" Wertheim asked.

“We all noticed that in Greenland, all of us. And it was ugly," Lynge explained.

Trump stated Sunday that the network should lose its license and encouraged the Federal Communications Commission to levy the highest punishment.

“They should lose their license! Hopefully, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), as headed by its Highly Respected Chairman, Brendan Carr, will impose the maximum fines and punishment, which is substantial, for their unlawful and illegal behavior. CBS is out of control, at levels never seen before, and they should pay a big price for this. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
