Trump says immigrants "poisoning the blood" of US
Trump told a rally in New Hampshire that these people coming from Africa, Asia, and all over the world were “poisoning the blood of our country."
Just weeks after adopting the term "vermin" to characterize parts of American society he despises, Donald Trump stated at a rally in New Hampshire that immigrants are "poisoning the blood of our country."
Trump had previously pledged to "root out the communists, Marxists, fascists, and radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country that lie, steal, and cheat on elections."
Trump told the rally these people coming from Africa, Asia, and all over the world were “poisoning the blood of our country."
“They poison mental institutions and prisons all over the world, not just in South America … but all over the world.
It is Trump's second usage of the phrase "poisoned blood," which has been heavily denounced for mirroring white nationalist language.
Joe Biden stated for the first time in October that the former president, who is facing 91 criminal accusations, was beginning to adopt language found in Nazi Germany.
At the time Biden expressed that “Trump also recently talked about, ‘The blood of America is being poisoned’ … Again, echoes the same phrases used in Nazi Germany."
In January, Trump vowed that if he was re-elected, he would penalize future administrations that would allow migrants to cross into the country and vowed to restore security measures at the border that were instated during his presidency.
According to Bloomberg on Thursday, US President Joe Biden is contending with political challenges within his Democratic party, as he currently trails behind his Republican rival, former President and current office candidate Donald Trump, in key swing states that are crucial for the 2024 elections.
A survey conducted by the newspaper in seven swing states revealed that recent data has brought to light the increasing dissatisfaction among Democratic voters with the Biden administration.
Support among Black voters, who represent a key demographic for the Democrats, has seen a decline since October. Additionally, young voters aged between 18 to 34 years, another vital group for the party, have expressed displeasure with Biden's approach to student loan forgiveness. This group is also likely to be critical of his handling of the Israeli war on Gaza.
US citizens disdained over Biden's policies
According to a Wall Street Journal survey released last week, 53% of US voters said Biden's policies had directly harmed them compared to the 49% who said former Trump's policies had helped them during his tenure. Meanwhile, only 37% said the former president's policies had affected them negatively.
Meanwhile, a Pew Research Center poll released last Friday revealed that only a third of Americans approve of how the Biden administration is managing the war on Gaza.
With Republicans, 51% of respondents disapprove while only 28% approve. Democrats, meanwhile, stand further divided: 44% approve, 33% disapprove, and 22% are undecided.
The presidential election in the United States is slated for November 2024 and current surveys have indicated that Trump holds an edge over Biden.
