Trump slams Judge over deportation ruling, clashes with judiciary

The Trump administration has accused federal judges of exceeding their authority following a series of court decisions that blocked key policies, including a ruling that halted the deportation of Venezuelan migrants. The White House condemned the judiciary's actions, with President Trump personally attacking the judge responsible for the ruling.
During a press briefing on Wednesday, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt claimed that a "concerted effort by the far left" had resulted in the appointment of judges acting as "partisan activists" against the administration. She argued that these judges were "usurping the will of the president and the chief executive of our country" and "undermining the will of the American public."
The administration's criticism focused on District Judge James Boasberg, who suspended deportation flights of Venezuelan migrants. The Trump administration had invoked a rarely used wartime law to justify the deportations, arguing that it was necessary to expel alleged Venezuelan gang members. Leavitt denounced Boasberg as "an activist judge" attempting to "usurp the president's authority."
Trump personally called for Boasberg's impeachment, referring to him as a "Radical Left Lunatic of a Judge" and blaming former President Barack Obama for his appointment. His remarks prompted a rare public response from Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, who stated that "For more than two centuries, it has been established that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision."
Despite the criticism from the Supreme Court, Trump renewed his attacks on the judge, posting on Truth Social that "If a President doesn't have the right to throw murderers, and other criminals, out of our Country because a Radical Left Lunatic Judge wants to assume the role of President, then our Country is in very big trouble, and destined to fail!"
A Series of Judicial Setbacks for Trump
The deportation ruling is one of several recent court decisions that have challenged Trump's policies. A judge ruled against his administration's attempt to shut down the main US aid agency, a move directed by Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Another judge suspended Trump's ban on transgender individuals serving in the military, citing the principle of equality.
Musk responded to the rulings by claiming that the judiciary was attempting a "judicial coup" against the administration.
