US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff stated that US President Donald Trump would chair a large meeting at the White House on Wednesday, convened for the purpose of discussing a post-war plan for Gaza.
When asked during a Tuesday interview for Fox News about a day-after plan for Gaza, Steve Witkoff confirmed its existence and explained that a large meeting chaired by the president was scheduled for the following day at the White House.
He described the plan as a very comprehensive and robust proposal being put together for the next day that would demonstrate how well-meaning it is and reflect Trump's humanitarian motives, adding, "We think that we're going to settle this (war) one way or another, certainly before the end of this year."
Trump claims war on Gaza could end in 3 weeks
Earlier on August 25, US President Donald Trump claimed that the ongoing war on Gaza would reach what he described as a conclusive ending within the next two to three weeks, a statement made despite emerging signs that "Israel" was pressing ahead with a prolonged military onslaught.
“I think within the next two to three weeks, you’re going to have pretty good, conclusive, a conclusive ending,” Trump announced to reporters in the Oval Office, failing to provide any evidence or intelligence to support his claims.
This comes as the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza continued unabated, with the death toll since October 7 surging to almost 63,000 Palestinians killed.
Since October 7, 2023, the war waged by "Israel" has resulted, as of August 26, 2025, in the reported deaths of 62,819 Palestinians and injuries to 158,629 others, while in the period from March 18, 2025, up to the present day, the figures have risen by a further 10,975 fatalities and 46,588 individuals wounded.
