Trump warns 'all hell' will break out if Israeli captives not released
Donald Trump has renewed his threats to bring "hell" to Gaza after the Palestinian Resistance took action against Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement.
United States President Donald Trump said he would "let all hell break loose" if Israeli captives being held in the Gaza Strip were not released by noon on Saturday.
Speaking from the Oval Office to reporters, Trump did say that it is ultimately up to the Israeli government to decide what would happen.
"I'm speaking for myself. Israel can override it," Trump explained.
This is not the first time that Trump has made the threat, as he had issued such a warning last December before taking office. At the time, Trump had threatened to bring hell to Gaza if the captives were not released by January 20, 2024.
However, Trump's administration also okayed a ceasefire agreement that would allow for the gradual release of Israeli captives and Palestinian detainees over multiple phases. This time around, Trump has reportedly said that he does not want a "trickle" of releases, emphasizing that "all hostages" must be released in one go.
His most recent threat comes after the Palestinian Resistance announced its intention to withhold a number of captives, meant to be released on Saturday, due to repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement the Israeli regime committed. The spokesperson for Hamas' al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, cited the Israeli regime's failure to meet the agreed-upon humanitarian aid deliveries to the Gaza Strip, as well as multiple attacks against Palestinians committed by Israeli occupation forces.
Abu Obeida stressed that the Palestinian Resistance's leadership would be committed to the clauses of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement only if Israeli authorities do the same.
