Current Republican presidential candidate and former US President Donald Trump claimed that he is going to jail (to be booked) in Georgia's Fulton County due to what he called a "perfect phone call" and a witch hunt that is allegedly coordinated with current President Joe Biden's administration.

Posting to Truth Social on Monday, Trump said: "Can you believe it? I’ll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be ARRESTED by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis, who is overseeing one of the greatest Murder and Violent Crime DISASTERS in American History. In my case, the trip to Atlanta is not for 'Murder,' but for making a PERFECT PHONE CALL! She campaigned, and is continuing to campaign, and raise money on, this WITCH HUNT. This is in strict coordination with Crooked Joe Biden’s DOJ. It is all about ELECTION INTERFERENCE!"

According to media reports earlier, Trump’s surrender date was a matter of negotiation with the district attorney’s office over bond and conditions of release.

This comes after Monday witnessed Trump’s bail set at $200,000 while restricting him to talking to co-defendants and witnesses regarding his case, as he was indicted by a grand jury in Georgia over alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

Supporters fear for Trump's life in 'dangerous' Fulton County Jail

The defendants have until 12 pm on August 25 to surrender, according to Willis, after which they will be booked at the Fulton County Jail, as per the Fulton County Sheriff's Office.

Trump accused Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for what he claims allowing the capital to become a "War zone" ridden with crime.

The former president wrote on Truth Social that "Failed D.A. Fani Willis, who has allowed Atlanta (Fulton County) to become a record-setting Murder and Violent Crime War Zone, with almost no retribution, shockingly indicted your favorite President, me, for a PERFECT PHONE CALL. She is bad for America!"

Trump backers have asserted that if he were detained at the Atlanta facility, his life would be in dange

Trump, alongside 18 of his allies, is facing a racketeering indictment that lists 161 "overt acts" allegedly committed as part of a conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election - 12 of which came from his own tweets.
