A massive demonstration took place in Tunis on Sunday in front of the US Embassy, protesting the Israeli aggression and expressing solidarity with Gaza and Palestine.

Protesters waved Palestinian flags and chanted pro-Palestinian slogans, emphasizing that the US administration is a partner in the war crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against the Gaza Strip. They also called for the expulsion of the US ambassador from Tunisia and the closure of the embassy.

In further detail, demonstrators demanded the recall of ambassadors from Western countries participating in the Israeli aggression on Gaza. They also called for exerting pressure on the Egyptian regime, asserting that the Rafah crossing is between Egypt and occupied Palestine, not Egypt and "Israel".

Earlier this month, a crowd of Tunisian citizens demonstrated in front of the Tunisian parliament coinciding with the vote on the law criminalizing normalization with the Israeli occupation inside the parliament. This demonstration aimed to condemn the aggression on Gaza and exert pressure on deputies to pass this law.

The proposed law consists of 7 articles, with the most prominent being Article 3, which charges anyone who collaborates with the Israeli occupation, puts himself at its disposal, or carries arms for it with high treason, punishable by life imprisonment.

Meanwhile, the ongoing air and ground aggression on Gaza has resulted in a total of 12,300 martyrs, with more than 5,000 being children, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health. The UN reported that 1.6 million people were forcibly displaced within the Gaza Strip as the Israeli aggression enters its seventh week. Concurrently, the total Israeli blockade of Gaza has led to shortages of food, water, medicine, and fuel.
